Know Your Core Values & Honouring Your Boundaries

Our Conscious Connections Meetup seminar/discussion, Why We Accept What We Shouldn’t: Core Values & Boundaries in Dating and Relationships, On May 19th, 2026 created one of the deepest and most reflective evenings we’ve had so far.

What became very clear throughout the evening was this:

Most people do not actually struggle with boundaries.

They struggle with clarity on their non-negotiable core values.

When we are disconnected from our core values, we often tolerate behaviours, relationships and situations that slowly disconnect us from ourselves. We override our intuition. We ignore red flags. We over-give. We stay quiet to keep the peace. We compromise what matters most because we fear conflict, rejection, loneliness or starting over.

The discussion explored how boundaries are not walls meant to punish others. Healthy boundaries are actually clarity in action. They help us honour our emotional safety, our self-worth and the values that matter most to us.

Throughout the evening, attendees courageously shared stories of:

  • staying too long in relationships

  • struggling to say no

  • fear of disappointing others

  • rebuilding trust after heartbreak

  • learning how to communicate needs more clearly

  • recognizing where their own boundaries had been crossed repeatedly

One of the strongest themes of the night was understanding that resentment often grows where boundaries are absent.

We also explored how our past relationships can reveal our deepest unmet values. If dishonesty hurts deeply, honesty may be a core value. If inconsistency creates anxiety, stability and communication may be essential values for emotional safety.

The evening was filled with meaningful shares, emotional awareness and genuine support from the group.

LadyKay expressed:
“This session was very thought provoking and the attendees were very forthcoming with sharing their experiences. It really was a great session 👍🏽”

Christi shared:
“This was my favorite session so far!!! Amazing host and topic!”

These conversations continue to remind us that healing and conscious connection happen when people feel safe enough to be honest, seen and heard.

Perhaps most importantly, many participants realized something powerful:

Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t learning to say No. It’s finally understanding why we kept saying Yes.

For those who are still unclear on their personal core values, I offer a 30 min Reconnect and Refresh session where we work together to uncover your top 3 non-negotiable values through a guided exercise and discussion. You can book your session HERE.

Because once you know your values, your decisions, relationships and boundaries begin to shift naturally.

Thank you again to everyone who showed up with openness, vulnerability and courage.

In Love & Light,
Angela Dawn
